To incorporate the value and importance of Urdu Language, Beaconhouse Model Town Junior celebrates Urdu week every November.
This year to encourage a love for the language, inter class competitions were held to motivate the students to do their best and put forth their extraordinary skills in Urdu.
The competitions consisted of the following:
Urdu Writing Competition
The Urdu handwriting competition was held in the classroom. Every student was required to submit a sample piece of their writing, the top three students were selected from each class and awarded first, second and third position.
Urdu Reading Competition
The first round of the Urdu Reading competition was held in the classroom. Every student was required to read a passage selected by the teacher, two students per class were selected and qualified for the final round of the competition, from KG till Class II.
The students from each level(KG to Class II) competed with their class fellows to secure a position in the final round. The students with the best pronunciation, tone and expression were achieved first, second and third position.
Urdu Quiz Competition
The first round of the Urdu Quiz competition was held in the classroom. Every student was given a list of questions along with their answers to prepare for the first round. The teacher quizzed each student and selected two students per section that qualified for the final round.
The students from each level(KG to Class II) competed with their class fellows to achieve a position in the final round of the Urdu Quiz competition. The students answered the most questions correctly secured first, second and third position after a tiebreaker round.
The aim of these competitions was to instil a passion in the young learners towards Urdu Language so that they also excel in Urdu.
