Mental math promotes faster calculations, allowing the brain to quickly recall memorized math facts to calculate the given problems.
To promote healthy competition among students and to stimulates their interest in math , Mental-Math Quizzes were organized at BSS 17-G. Levels from Kindergarten till Class II, participated while applying their skills such as rounding numbers and estimating calculations.
Mental mathematical skills allowed students to do math “in their head” without using pencil and paper. Students competed through first till final rounds. The principal Miss Suad encouraged and cheered for the participants and asked various questions through out the rounds . The difficulty level increased with each round, thus narrowing students to 1st , 2nd, and 3rd positions .All the participants were presented with certificates and winners took home trophies and certificates with them.
