This summer, I decided to learn coding! It sounded exciting because I love computers and video games, and I wanted to try making my own programs. But coding is not as easy as it looks — I’ve had some wins and some fails along the way.
Wins 🎉
One of my biggest wins was when I wrote my first simple program that made the computer say “Hello, World!” It was so cool to see my code work! Then, I learned how to make a game where you can move a character around the screen. Each time I solved a problem or fixed a bug, I felt proud and more confident.
Fails 😅
Coding also gave me some fails. Sometimes, my program didn’t work because of a tiny mistake like a missing semicolon or spelling error. Once, my game crashed, and I couldn’t figure out why for a long time! I got frustrated, but I learned that patience is very important in coding.
What I’ve Learned
Coding has taught me to think carefully, be patient, and keep trying even when things don’t work. It feels great to create something using just words and symbols on the screen. I’m excited to keep learning and maybe build bigger projects soon!
