This year on 14th August, we celebrated Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day at home with a lot of excitement and love for our country. From the morning, our whole family was busy decorating the house. We put up green and white balloons, small flags on the walls, and a big Pakistani flag on the rooftop. When I looked at the waving flag, it made me feel proud and thankful.

In the evening, we played national songs loudly, and the whole house was filled with patriotic spirit. I sang along with my siblings, and it felt like we were part of a big celebration happening across the country.

At night, we went to our Nani’s house where my cousins had also gathered. Together, we cut a cake decorated in the colors of our flag. We laughed, played, and enjoyed snacks while waving little flags. The rooftop looked so beautiful with lights, balloons and fireworks in the the sky around u. I felt very happy and proud during the whole day. Independence day is important to me because it reminds us that freedom is a blessing. We should never forget the struggles of our leaders and should always love and respect Pakistan.
