Beaconhouse Jinnah Campus, in collaboration with Primary II PECHS and Primary III DAS, proudly participated in the Earth Hour Challenge, uniting students, teachers, and staff in a shared mission to raise awareness about protecting our planet.
Earth Hour is observed annually on the last Saturday of March, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM local time. It is a global initiative organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) that encourages individuals and communities to turn off non-essential lights for one hour. This symbolic act highlights the urgent need for climate action and the importance of conserving energy and natural resources.
Complementing this event, students also celebrated Earth Day, which is held every year on April 22. Earth Day is dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and encouraging actions that support a healthier planet. The day emphasizes the importance of preserving nature, addressing pollution, and fostering sustainable living.
At Beaconhouse, students from Primary Class 3 took the lead in environmental advocacy by showcasing creative Earth Day projects, promoting energy-saving practices, and reinforcing the message of the 3 Rs – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. They engaged in a range of meaningful activities including:
• Interactive quizzes to test and build environmental knowledge
• Art and craft sessions using recycled materials
• Story circles focused on sustainability and Earth care
These activities aimed to instill a sense of responsibility and environmental stewardship in young learners, encouraging them to take thoughtful actions toward a greener future.
Together, Beaconhouse students and educators continue to inspire change and advocate for a sustainable world—one small action at a time.
