Sometimes, we find it hard to say “No” when someone asks us to do something we don’t like or when something doesn’t feel right. But our teacher reminded us that it’s okay to say “No” and to speak up when we don’t feel comfortable.

We learned that saying “No” helps us stay safe and confident. It doesn’t mean we are being rude — it means we are taking care of ourselves. We also practiced saying “I don’t feel okay” when something bothers us, so adults can understand and help us.

Here are a few things we can do:

  • Say “No, thank you” firmly but politely.

  • Walk away from situations that feel wrong.

  • Talk to a trusted adult, like a parent or teacher, if we feel unsafe.

We realized that our feelings are important and our voice matters. It’s brave to speak up and protect ourselves and others.
