The First Term Champion Spellers Challenge brought together Grades 1 to 6 in a thrilling celebration of spelling and vocabulary, proving that words can be just as exciting as games!

Spelling and vocabulary are more than classroom skills rather they are the keys to communication, creativity, and confidence. When children spell correctly, they unlock the ability to express themselves clearly. When they expand their vocabulary, they gain the power to describe the world with precision and imagination. 🌟 Star Spellers Take the Stage
The journey began with the selection of Star Spellers, the students who had consistently aced every monthly spelling bee in the first term. Their dedication and hard work earned them a place in the finals, representing the very best of Grades 1 to 6.
📅 Two Days of Excitement
The competition unfolded over two days:
- February 2: Rounds 1 and 2
- February 3: The Grand Finale
This structure kept anticipation alive, giving students time to prepare while ensuring the audience remained eager for the final showdown.
🧠 Round 1: Focus & Spell Challenge
The opening round tested memory and focus. A paragraph filled with spelling bee words was displayed on the multimedia projector. Students had 8–10 minutes to memorize it before the text was hidden. Then came the dictation — teachers read aloud, and students wrote from memory.
It was a test of concentration and retention, and only the sharpest minds advanced to the next stage.
💻 Round 2: Kahoot Spelling Quiz
Energy soared as the competition moved into the digital realm. Using Kahoot, students faced 15 spelling questions, each with four options. Accuracy and speed determined the scores, making the round both challenging and exhilarating.
The lively atmosphere kept everyone on their toes, with cheers echoing as students raced against time to prove their spelling mastery.
🎤 Round 3: The Spelling Bee Finale
The finale was nothing short of electrifying. Finalists stepped up one by one, spelling words aloud with confidence and composure. To advance, they had to spell six consecutive words correctly. The final challenge words determined the ultimate champion.
This round tested not just spelling accuracy, but also listening, pronunciation, and poise under pressure. The audience was so engaged that many found themselves silently spelling along, sharing in the tension and triumph of each contestant.
