In February, Beaconhouse School System (JPC) celebrated Children’s Mental Health Week from 9th to 14th February. The goal was simple yet profound: to show children that mental wellbeing isn’t just about “not being sad” — it’s about building resilience, feeling included, and staying active.

By integrating wellbeing, inclusive learning, and physical movement, the school created a space where every child could find their own path to a healthy mind.
🎨 Creative Wellbeing Initiatives
- Expressive Tools: Activities like the Gratitude Tree and Words That Heal Wall encouraged affirmations and compassionate language.
- Art for Emotions: Emotion Drawing and Mandala Coloring offered meditative spaces for processing feelings.
- Safe Release: The Worry Monster initiative gave students a way to externalize anxieties and practice letting go.
Impact: Students who were initially hesitant found it easier to open up through structured, creative outlets. These activities reduced the “heavy” stigma around mental health, replacing it with communal support and belonging.
👨👩👧 Parent-Teacher Engagement
To extend the significance of the week, the Inclusive Learning Department and Sports Department planned activities during the Parent-Teacher Meeting, ensuring families could actively contribute.
