“The most important influence on a child’s success is the cooperation between home and school.”Epstein, J. L.

The first Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) for the academic year 2025–26 was held at Beaconhouse Jauhar Primary Campus on October 18, 2025, for all levels, Grades 1 to 6. The event was not just a meeting, it was a reaffirmation of our collective belief in the power of communication and partnership in education.

The Importance of a Parent-Teacher Association

Parent-Teacher Associations play a vital role in fostering an inclusive school culture. They serve as a platform for collaboration, where parents’ voices are heard, their suggestions are valued and their ideas help shape meaningful initiatives for students. Beyond discussing academic progress, PTMs strengthen trust between home and school, leading to improved student motivation, stronger values and better academic outcomes.

At Jauhar Primary Campus, this partnership goes beyond formality, it’s a shared commitment. We believe that when parents and teachers work together, the classroom extends into the home, and learning becomes a lifelong habit rather than a scheduled task.

A Glimpse into the Parent-Teacher Meeting

The recent PTM was a vibrant example of collaboration in action. Parents met teachers in an atmosphere of openness and respect, discussing students’ academic progress, learning styles, and areas for growth. Conducted soon after the first Common Assessment Tasks (CAT), the meeting also offered parents the opportunity to view their children’s assessments, allowing for transparency and deeper understanding of their academic journey.

The meeting also reinforced a key aspect of our campus philosophy; the well-being of every student. Our educators shared insights on emotional, social and cognitive development, emphasizing that true learning happens when children feel safe, confident and supported.

Highlights of the Day

Each academic term at Jauhar Primary Campus features one PTM, and this first meeting of the year stood out for its organization, energy and community spirit. From the moment parents entered, they experienced a smooth digital registration process, ensuring efficient attendance tracking. The school’s Senior Leadership Team remained highly active throughout the event, visiting each floor to meet parents, listen to their feedback, and ensure smooth coordination.

Our Student Council members took great pride in serving as ushers, guiding parents according to the shared seating plan and assisting them in finding their designated classrooms. This experience not only strengthened their leadership qualities but also reflected the school’s emphasis on student responsibility and teamwork.

The school grounds were filled with vibrancy, offering three engaging stations that encouraged joyful interaction. At the Art Station, parents enjoyed creative activities alongside their children, while the Physical Education (P.E.) Station provided fun, movement-based experiences for families to share together. The atmosphere was further enriched by a range of food stalls arranged by the canteen vendor, offering delicious treats that added a festive touch to the day.

To ensure continuous improvement, a digital survey form was shared with parents to collect feedback on the PTM’s effectiveness. Their responses will guide future initiatives as we strive to make every interaction more meaningful and impactful.

The Parent-Teacher-Student Triangle: Our Campus Philosophy

At Beaconhouse Jauhar Primary Campus, we uphold the belief that education thrives on the triangle of parent, teacher, and student. Each side is equally significant; teachers guide and inspire, parents nurture and support, and students learn, grow and achieve.

We recognize our parents as vital stakeholders in this triangle. Their involvement strengthens the school’s mission of holistic education and provides valuable perspectives that shape our initiatives. Our campus continues to nurture this bond by engaging parents as contributors, mentors, and collaborators in various school events and programs.

Active Parental Involvement: A Hallmark of Jauhar Primary Campus

Our Jauhar community has always celebrated the spirit of teamwork. Over the past year, parents have played an active role in several school events, mentoring students for the Inter-Branch Debate Competition, volunteering as judges, and participating in discussions on special occasions such as Women’s Day.

Events like the Bake Sale have been shining examples of how parents’ participation can transform an event into a learning opportunity for students; teaching teamwork, responsibility and community spirit. Such experiences enrich the school environment and strengthen the connection between families and educators.

At Jauhar Primary Campus, these principles aren’t just theoretical; they are lived values embedded in our daily practices and reflected in every event, initiative and conversation.

Moving Forward Together

As we reflect on the success of our first PTM of the year, we are reminded that collaboration is not a one-day event, it’s a continuous journey. At Beaconhouse Jauhar Primary Campus, we deeply value our Parent-Teacher Association and the trust our parents place in us. Together, we aim to nurture curious minds, kind hearts and resilient spirits. The well-being of our students remains our top priority, and it is through the ongoing partnership between parents and teachers that we can help every child reach their fullest potential.
