According to Margaret Heffernan, for good ideas and true innovation, you need human interaction, conflict, argument and debate. Thus, to polish the art of debating and presenting opposing points of view; an event of Urdu Mubahisa was organized by the management and Urdu faculty of GMBK-1.
In this event, students presented their points in favour and against the topic, ”Nakal karna hamara haq hai”. Students not only presented their speeches but also showcased their argumentative skills which aimed at representing their creativity. Along with the students, who won the heart of the audience, faculty members including Ms Farah Shaheen and Sir Talha Saleem also participated in the debates and presented their opinions and thoughts via their provoking speeches which forced our audience to give them a huge round of applause. It was surely a tough task for the judges to decide the winners of the competition because of the inspiring speeches that each candidate presented. In the end, our headmistress, Miss Maliha Noman was called upon the stage to decide which team had won and backed by the audience’s support she also spoke in favour of the team that agreed with the topic.
All the participants and winners of the event were then awarded with appreciation certificates which really enhanced their morale and confidence.
