Language is one of the most powerful tools we have — it connects us, inspires us, and opens the doors to endless possibilities. We recently celebrated International English Language Day with a vibrant display of enthusiasm, creativity, and the spirit of expression, and what a memorable day it was!
Our talented students showcased their love for the English language through a series of captivating performances. The celebrations began with the thrilling Turncoat Debate, where participants showed remarkable eloquence and quick thinking as they argued both sides of a topic. The dynamic format not only tested their debating skills but also highlighted the versatility and richness of the English language as a medium for powerful expression.
Adding a melodic note to the event, students performed songs that captured the beauty, rhythm, and emotional depth that language can convey. Their soulful performances reminded everyone of the timeless bond between music and words.
One of the most applauded performances of the day was the engaging skit based on William Shakespeare’s “The Seven Ages of Man.” Our students brought the classic poem to life with expressive acting and a deep understanding of Shakespeare’s reflections on the stages of human life. Their portrayal beautifully demonstrated how literature continues to resonate across generations, emphasizing the profound impact of the English language on our cultural heritage.
We were honoured by the presence of two distinguished judges — Ms. Arshia Haroon, School Coordinator at Gulshan Cambridge, and Mr. Shoaib Arshad, an alumnus and an exceptional debater from Gulshan BCP. Their time, encouragement and valuable feedback greatly enriched the experience for our young performers. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for their contribution, which truly elevated the event to new heights.
A huge round of applause to the Turncoat Debate winners, who stood out with their clarity, confidence, and passion for the language. Your outstanding performances were truly inspiring!
