“Readers transform a library from a mausoleum into many theatres,” said Mason Cooley

Readers Theatre is a form of theater in which players do dramatic readings of story material without the use of costumes, sets, scenery, or special lighting. To assist the audience to grasp the plot, actors just use vocal emotion. It’s a method that incorporates both reading practice and performance. Its goal is to help kids improve their reading skills and confidence by having them practice reading for a specific reason. Reader’s theatre provides a compelling motivation for pupils to read aloud.

Participating in the Readers Theatre Competition was very exciting for the students. It not only helped the students gain confidence while communicating with peers but also helped them build fluency by exposing them to various texts regularly. Furthermore, since the students practiced so much, this activity improved their pronunciation and presentation skills. This assignment required them to imagine themselves in the position of a specific character while delivering the lines.

Reading skills are crucial because they allow us to access the entire curriculum while also improving our communication and language abilities. Furthermore, reading may be a pleasant and imaginative activity that allows kids to explore new worlds and think beyond the box.
