What is Doodle art?
Doodling is whatever comes to mind. It is not a distinct thing. Just at random. Some of history’s most significant figures were doodlers, and the margins of well-known historical texts are filled with absurd stick figures.
The value of doodling is also supported by Science:
a. Doodling helps you pay attention. By providing just enough stimulation to keep the brain from returning to its default state or “spacing out,” doodling helps people stay focused.
b. Doodling provides an outlet for emotions and promotes communication. People who are upset, anxious, or depressed can use doodling to express their feelings and even to relax.
c. Doodling fosters original thought. It develops new, creative thoughts because it places the mind in a condition that is halfway between alertness and daydreaming. It calms individuals just enough for a thought that’s been brewing in the back of their minds to spontaneously materialize.
Doodles, most crucially, provide you with unique insights into people’s inner selves.
Where did the concept of doodles originate?
In order to let users know they were “out of the office” at a music and art festival in 1998, Larry and Sergey, the founders of Google, drew a stick person behind the second ‘o’ in the word Google.
Doodles of figures were drawn by Class V students as a means of relaxation and self-expression.
