Business Contest 2022
Beaconhouse Cambridge Campus provided a golden opportunity for young students to showcase their entrepreneurial skills. The commerce department organized an Inter School Business Contest in which each round was closely designed to compete in a dynamic learning environment with an ability to practically implement classroom knowledge.
Each round in this Contest:
- was an organized activity occurring at a specific place and time.
- involved students in the ongoing learning process of the same curriculum.
- provided a platform to interact and compete as a mixed ability team.
- was directly observable.
Participants of Business Contest displayed immense excitement and willing to approach their teammates, as the teams were announced four days prior to the contest. The lists of the team members were shared on the class WhatsApp groups and hard copies were placed on the class soft boards. Some of the teams even conducted discussion sessions with their teammates from other levels (Each team consisted of 04 members out of which two were from Grade X and 2 from XI) to get to know each other and support them in their weak areas.
A real challenge in organizing this Contest was the timings! It was quite a crucial phase as Grade X and XI students, were about to have their Mocks and End of Year Examination, and this thought that students might not turn up for any such contest couldn’t be denied.
Contest Day had a welcoming start by all the Commerce Students, a total of 57 Commerce Students (Total of 20 teams) sat in Round #. Students were assigned 30 minutes to attempt 30 multiple choice questions, covering Grade IX and X Syllabus for Economics and Accounting.
When the results of the Round #1 announced and the elected 10 teams were taken to the Computer Lab where the team leaders were called and a “Quick pick up” session was carried out, Out of 11 options in the bowl, each one had to select one.

Each team was required to present their analysis of the product and the judges were supposed to ask questions regarding the topic to ensure that the contestants understood the concepts well. A slot of 20 minutes, was given for research and analysis.
Results of round 2 were very exciting and finally five teams qualified for the third and the final round. It was a rapid test round: each team was given a buzzer. All participants were very excited and after a tough competition, three teams qualified for top three positions.
The session left students with profound understanding of different concepts which they had learnt in past two years.
