Every human being, no matter where they come from, or what their race, gender, or belief is, deserves to have dignity. Global Dignity Day is a dominant reminder of this truth — that every person has the right to be valued, respected, and treated with kindness. This marvelous day is celebrated every year in the month of October, which encourages people to reflect on themselves to identify the true meaning of dignity, and how we can interpret it into our lives and communities.

During the home room periods in Beaconhouse Gulshan Campus, students dedicated their time to the meaningful activities of Global Dignity Day. At the start, students were engaged in various acts and roleplays to reinforce the idea that every individual deserves respect, dignity, and equal opportunities, irrespective of their background and differences. The scenarios were about helping and caring for each other in difficult and harsh times, and dignifying ourselves.

Students of Gulshan Campus participated in a series of meaningful activities celebrating respect and compassion. Through the Circle of Compliments, Acts of Dignity Drama, and the Dignity Chain, they expressed the importance of valuing others and upholding human dignity. The Voice of Dignity Audio Wall featured students’ reflections on what dignity means to them. Together, they reaffirmed the commitment to treating every individual with respect and empathy. Students also wrote meaningful slogans on Canva to demonstrate how they can have a unique impact on every person.

By the end of the week, students of Beaconhouse Gulshan Campus came together to create a Global Dignity chain, where we wrote down admirable qualities about our classmates. These activities deepened our understanding and appreciation of Global Dignity Day, nurturing empathy, compassion, and a sense of community among us. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of treating others with kindness and respect, regardless of undefined differences.
