Once upon a time, a girl named Emma was playing in her backyard. Her mother came out of the house and asked,

“Did you break the flowerpot?”

“Nnno, Mom, I have no idea,” Emma replied.

The next morning, Emma’s mom was feeding the animals in the shed when Emma woke up. She went to the bathroom and was shocked to see something really weird. Her nose had grown really big and pointed like a witch’s nose. She screamed in horror.

Her mom came running to her room and said,

“Oh my! What happened to your nose? It seems you lied to someone.”

Emma got scared and asked in confusion,

“Does this happen to the ones who lie?”

“Yes, of course,” her mom replied.

“I broke that flowerpot, Mom. But it was an accident,” Emma told her mom.

Her mom smiled and pulled the rubber nose out, which she had fixed on Emma’s nose while she was fast asleep.

Now Emma realized that she should not lie because mothers always find out the truth. She promised that she would never lie. Her mom hugged her.
