The first day of Summer Camp arrived with all the emotions you’d expect—tiny hands clutched tightly to parents, wide eyes scanning the hallways, and hearts thumping with anticipation. Some children cried softly; others burst in with excitement. That beautiful contrast—that mix of nervous beginnings and fearless enthusiasm—is what made Day One feel so very human.
As the scent of freshly popped corn danced through the corridors and happy squeals echoed from the photo booth corner, we knew: this was the start of something special.
Little Moments, Big Memories
From the get-go, our days were brimming with purpose and play. Students explored, created, expressed—and sometimes just sat cross-legged on the floor, lost in a moment of wide-eyed wonder.
- Robotics sessions sparked curiosity, especially among our elder campers, who dove into motors and sensors with the kind of focus only true fascination brings.
- Self-Grooming wasn’t about combs and clips—it was about building a quiet pride in one’s own presence. We saw shy smiles bloom into confident stances.
- Blogging turned into storytelling, with little writers crafting their first blog posts—sometimes funny, sometimes thoughtful, always sincere.
- TEDx BSS gave our campers a space to speak from the heart. One session on honesty turned into a moving conversation about trust and the little ways we learn to protect it.
- Arts & Craft brought balloon painting mayhem (and quite a few colorful sleeves), while Music & Rhythm had even the shyest kids stomping and clapping to patterns they’d created themselves.
- Taekwondo became more than just kicks and punches—it was about posture, patience, and discovering one’s own strength.
- In Turkish Language class, cheerful rounds of “Merhaba!” and “Teşekkür ederim!” filled the room with excitement as campers counted and greeted in a new tongue.
- The gentle grace of Arabic Calligraphy slowed things down, inviting reflection and a sense of cultural connection.
For the First-Timers
Many of our youngest campers had never spent time away from home. Their trembling lips, tentative steps, and tearful goodbyes were met with unmatched care. Teachers kneeled to their level, offered hand-holding walks, and whispered reassurances. By Day Three, those same little ones were leading games, proudly showing off their painted hands and giggling during Turkish counting games. The transformation was heartwarming.
For the Parents
None of this would’ve been possible without you. Your trust—the kind that lets go of a tiny hand and says, “Go explore”—is what powers this camp. We see the love in the careful way lunchboxes are packed, in the notes slipped into bags, in every wave at the gate.
What These Weeks Gave Us
They gave us big belly laughs and quiet reflections. They gave us painted walls, popcorn trails, and new words spoken in multiple languages. They gave us truth, when a child admitted how hard it is to tell the whole story. They gave us strength, as little arms held balance in yoga poses. Most of all, they gave us each other.
Here at BSS Kohsar, these aren’t just summer activities. They’re small, powerful steps in shaping hearts and minds—while making memories we’ll all carry far beyond the last day of camp.
