The beauty of Pakistan lies in the diversity of its cultures and traditions. Beacounhouse Latifabad Primary II passionately celebrated ‘ Cultural Week ‘ where the children got a chance to experience the richness of cultures in each of the provinces of Pakistan and explore the traditional practices of the various ethnic groups populated in the country. Children took great pride in representing their native cultures by wearing their conventional attires, sharing greetings in their native languages, and performed cultural dances on popular folk music. Not only this, but also they got an opportunity to feel the thrill that comes with playing the long-lost traditional games.
There’s no denying that gadgets have deprived our children of entertainment and endless health benefits offered by the games their parents had grown up playing. Hence, to fill the void, the school hosted an Interhouse Traditional Games Competition of “Stapoo”, “Kho Kho”, “Ankh Micholi ”  and “Kabaddi “, which was a cherry on the top. The girls belonging to the Green, Yellow, Blue, and Red House competed against each other in ‘Stapoo and Ankh Micholi’ . However, the ‘Kabaadi and Kho Kho match’ held between the boys, which was the day’s highlight that got the spectators bursting into laughter. After a nerve-wracking but equally amusing final, the Green shirts succeeded in laying their hands on the trophy.
The students enjoyed the games as much as the audience did. They also realized that our traditional games are far better and more exciting than games on gadgets.
