“Every soul is beautiful and precious, worthy of dignity and respect, and deserving of peace, joy and love.” -Bryant H. McGill
Global Dignity Day is an annual acknowledgement of human rights regardless of race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. It is observed worldwide on the third Wednesday of October. Beaconhouse Latifabad Primary II, like each year, celebrated Dignity Day on the 18th and 19th of October 2022 with great compassion and determination, intending to teach its young learners to showcase love and respect to their fellow inhabitants.
Students at BSS LP II witnessed and participated in diverse activities, aiming to educate children to overlook human defaults and differences and respect each other.
The day began with the Oath-Taking Ceremony in which students from different sections of grade 3 were selected as Dignity Ambassadors and awarded GDD badges. The Dignity Ambassadors then took the pledge to always abide by and exercise the principles of dignity in their day-to-day life.
The empathetic learners of grade 2 presented a special morning assembly in which they demonstrated various ways of exhibiting dignity and kindness in mundane life through little deeds that can make a noteworthy difference in someone’s life.
A Dignity Board allowed students to contemplate their ideas of peace and students embellished them with their reflections.
Students in grade 3 also voiced their thoughts about equality. An interview with the junior staff of the school provided children with an opportunity to explore the role of community helpers in our society, melting their hearts. They expressed their gratitude by presenting them with small tokens of love.
The Beaconites of LP II depicted their thoughts by designing captivating posters to spread the message of equality and respect for every living organism on our home planet- Earth.
