“Give children the toys that are powered by their own imagination, but not by batteries” (H. Jackson Brown)
Fred Rogers said, “When children pretend, they use their imagination to move beyond the limits of reality. A stick can be a magic wand and a sock can be a puppet and a child can be a superhero”. Nursery students at Kindergarten Campus Latifabad Hyderabad enacted their ORT reader “The Toy’s Party” in a beautiful and eye catchy setup. Children’s favorite toys were displayed and they expressed their adoration during a show and tell session in the assembly area.
The teachers introduced the reader ‘The Toy’s party’ and its characters in a story telling session. The story is about a family of six members including their pet dog. The toys were invited for the party in a welcoming environment and with mesmerizing music at kindergarten. Each child served yummy food to the toys showing their cultural hospitality.
In the end children tidy up the area as they didn’t want to make their HM cross like Kipper did to his Mum. At the end of the day the purpose of learning with laughter, challenge and delight was achieved.
