At Beaconhouse we make all possible efforts to spread awareness among our students of their rights and responsibility towards safety and security. For this purpose, conducting special morning assemblies, PSHE lessons, role plays and class awareness sessions is our regular practice. It is important to teach children to take proactive measures in order to stay protected from accidental hazards in our lives. Teaching kids about personal safety is as essential as teaching them how to read and write.
Students of class 1 gave awareness about safety measures through a role play during morning assembly. They acted upon the concept of “Stranger danger”, “E-safety” and “good touch and bad touch”. Students thoroughly explained that E-safety includes a cautious use of internet. And that we should refrain from sharing personal, private and property related information on internet. It is important to understand the benefits, risks and responsibilities of using information technology. Students also included a conversation about good touch and bad touch which made the audience aware of what is acceptable touch and what is unsafe. They emphasized the importance of saying “no” and what to do in case of encountering such incidents. Lastly, students presented the idea that all strangers can potentially be dangerous.
In short, safety is as simple as ABC: Always, Be, Careful
