Our Pre-Nursery students enjoyed an exciting and interactive learning experience as they explored the letter “S” through a variety of hands-on and engaging activities. The session was thoughtfully designed to build early literacy skills by focusing on vocabulary development, sound recognition, and letter formation in a fun and meaningful way.
The day began with lively discussions around familiar objects and words that start with the /s/ sound. Children eagerly listened, repeated sounds, and shared their ideas, strengthening their phonics awareness and listening skills. Through guided practice, they traced and formed the letter S, helping to develop fine motor control and confidence in early writing skills.
The highlight of the session was a joyful balloon-popping game, which filled the classroom with excitement and laughter. Each balloon revealed a picture or word, and the children enthusiastically guessed whether it began with the “S” sound. This playful activity encouraged turn-taking, focus, and active participation while reinforcing sound–letter connections in an engaging way.
Throughout the lesson, students were encouraged to observe, think, and respond, making learning both interactive and purposeful. The use of movement, visuals, and games allowed children to stay motivated while learning at their own pace.
Overall, the session provided a perfect balance of fun and learning. By blending play with phonics, our young learners strengthened their early literacy skills, built confidence, and discovered that learning letters can be both exciting and memorable. It was truly a delightful day of exploration and joyful learning! 🎈📘✨
