Modern technology continues to heavily influence rapid changes in our society. Hence, it’s essential to invest continually in professional learning, not only to embrace a growth mindset as an educator, but also leads to improved learning outcomes for the students.

Beaconhouse School System Qasimabad branch organized a Professional development program in the month of October at two levels: ‘Beginning Teacher Preparatory Program’ (BTPP) and ‘Developing Reflective Practitioners’ (DRP) for their teachers.

Beginning Teacher Preparatory Program’ (BTPP)

The idea behind this program was to make teachers aware about the culture of the school, to know about the student’s mindset, to know about teaching strategies, to know the elements of a lesson plan, to know about the classroom management strategies, to know about the Assessment criteria.

Different activities were conducted in every session which will help teachers to make their classroom teaching and learning effective.

It is one way teachers can improve their skills, and in turn, boost student performance. Therefore, at Beaconhouse every teacher gets their first professional training in Beginning Teachers’ Preparatory Program (BTPP).

When teachers engage in reflective teaching, they are dedicating time to evaluate their own teaching strategy, examine their curricular choices, consider student feedback and make revisions to improve student belonging and learning.

Reflective practice is a learning process taught to professionals from a variety of disciplines by practitioners, with the aim of enhancing abilities to communicate and making informed/balanced decisions.

Following topics were covered in the training sessions:

  1. Reflective Teaching
  2. Active learning Theories
