Iqbal Day (Yom-e Iqbal), the birthday of Muhammad Iqbal on 9th of November is structured and celebrated universally in the entire world to compliment Iqbal, the “Poet of the East” every year.
Students of Beaconhouse Jauhar Hill Top Campus celebrated the renowned day on which the poet-philosopher Dr. Muhammad Allama Iqbal graced this world with his presence and created history with his eternal wisdom. To begin the auspicious ceremony the very talented students of grade II performed the tableau on “Bemaar ka haal.” Melodies were sung to pay homage to the esteemed philosopher also encouraged the audience to reminisce the era of the legend, Allama Iqbal. All the primary students then displayed the power of their words which were fueled by the passion they felt for Iqbal through their speeches.
Later, KG students presented a conversation highlighting the honorable attributes of Dr. Allama Iqbal. Nursery children also paid a tribute to the poet by performing“Lab pe aati hay dua.” To renew the archaic remnants of the forgotten legacy. Grade III students performed on a famous dua “Ya rab dil-e-muslim.” The support staff enthusiastically participated by dressing up as influential Pakistani leaders and presented a monologue about them. To test the knowledge of the elderly about the legacy of Muhammad Allama Iqbal a quiz was conducted in which the enthusiasm expressed by the parents was inspiring.
The event was concluded with refreshments and a thanking note present by our school Headmistress, Miss Sadaf Naveed. The “Poet of the east” Dr. Allama Iqbal is an inspiration for the youth of today and many generations that are to come hence to this day he lives in his words and awakens patriotism in the nation and allows everyone to walk on the untrodden path of righteousness.
