On November 20<\/span>th<\/span>, 1959, the UN General Assembly adopted the<\/span> Declaration of the Rights of the Child.<\/span><\/a>\u00a0 <\/span>On the same date in 1989, world leaders came together and made an important pledge and commitment for children all around the globe. They made a promise to make greater effort to protect and fulfil the rights of every child. For this purpose, an official legal framework was created and adopted internationally \u2013 the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Convention emphasizes that childhood is a special, protected time separated from adulthood, in which all children must be allowed the opportunity to grow, learn, play, develop and flourish. The Beaconhouse School System\u2019s foundation is laid on the very basis of this idea. We believe that through education, children should be provided meaningful experiences for their holistic development. In order to emphasize the day\u2019s significance, several fun activities were planned for our children.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Early Years and Primary Section, an Art activity was planned for children to showcase their artistic side. They exhibited their imagination through their crafts. Each child displayed creativity, diversity and uniqueness in their work.\u00a0 Sports and game activities are very important for the development of children because they learn through hands-on experience about rules, working as a team, playing fairly, celebrating success and hard work and also applauding the efforts of others. Therefore, a\u00a0mini-sports day was also held for the children. Children also participated in a poster competition based on \u201cWhat I want to do when I grow up\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our parents also sent beautiful video messages<\/a> based on the Universal Children\u2019s Day\u2019 2021 theme, \u201cInvesting in our Children means Investing in our Future\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Middle School students presented a wonderful and thought-provoking drama during the school assembly to highlight the issue of child labour. They showcased that this menace needs to be eradicated from the society as it is detrimental to a child\u2019s health and development.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the years, students of the Jubilee Campus have also planned, participated and contributed whole-heartedly for various community service activities including donation drives for underprivileged children.<\/span><\/p>\n
