What is success? Success is achieving something in life, that something can be anything; success is where I am today, at a great university due to the support that I received from my family and Beaconhouse School.
Let’s go back to when I joined Beaconhouse in O levels. I was merely a nervous 14-year-old child, but with the help of a mentor like teachers, I gained confidence, enhanced my knowledge, and broadened my horizons. I completed my O levels with 3A*,4A and 1 B, which consequently landed me with a 75% scholarship in A-levels, which undoubtedly was a proud moment for my parents and me.
After this achievement, I continued to work hard and with the help of the fantastic teachers, I was able to score 4 As in AS Level and receive a 100% scholarship in A2 level. This scholarship was just one side of my success journey. The other side of my success story is the excellent counselling department of Beaconhouse which guided me to apply to a mixture of universities in different countries, broadening my options. I received offer letters from many leading universities.
The two offers that astounded me were Brunel University, London’s exclusive 50% scholarship, and 100% scholarship from the Middle East Technical University of Ankara. As challenging as it was to choose one option, Beaconhouse’s counsellor, through proper guidance, made a choice easy for me. I decided to go to the Middle East Technical University of Ankara for my Under Graduate Program. Where ever I am, and whoever I become, Beaconhouse is a part of me, and that bond is unforgettable.
