We believe that the acquisition of a language is driven by our primal need to communicate and the BSS Early Years Communication, Language and Literacy curriculum builds on this need.\u00a0 Communication, Language and Literacy form the basis for learning across the curriculum, whether students are learning about numbers or movement, language is central to engaging with and accessing the curriculum.<\/p>\n

Multiple types of interactions, such as small group, large group and one to one are used to maximize the amount of talk and interaction between students.\u00a0These experiences encourage and facilitate student exploration, experimentation and creativity in the pursuit of language development.<\/p>\n

Phonics means the study of sounds.\u00a0Phonics is the basic relationship between various letters to sounds and is a key aspect of language development. Identify the main components of phonics that use a variety of teaching strategies: sound-spelling, blending, and dictation.<\/p>\n

Young students learn how to speak and read efficiently with the help of sounds. Phonics turns out to be of great help when we try to learn English language. They start with the sound of alphabets and gradually move ahead to words and then sentences.<\/p>\n

To make sure that our students do not lag behind in terms of reading ability, students of Pre-Nursery participated in different activities to recognize and say sounds of the letters they learnt. They worked in pairs, as individual and with their teacher to perform the tasks. They revised the sounds, action and related vocabulary through playing alphabet mats, making puzzles and alphabet flower matching.<\/p>\n
