I\u2019m Muneeba Shaikh from Beaconhouse- Jauhar Campus. Thanks to the encouragement of our career counselor, Sir Sanaullah, I had the privilege to join The Citizens Foundation (TCF) for a two-week summer internship at Gadap Town. For me, TCF is more than just a prestigious organization\u2014it\u2019s a place where hope, resilience, and quality education come together to uplift underprivileged communities<\/p>\n

12 Days of Learning & Laughter<\/strong><\/p>\n

Module#.1<\/em>: Taught five new English words\u2014students were quick to grasp definitions, craft sentences, and even suggest synonyms.<\/p>\n

Module #.2<\/em>: Immersive storytelling or theatre\/drama module\u2014built confidence, voice, and body language in once-shy<\/p>\n

Module #.3<\/em>: Arts & crafts\u2014origami, painting, and creativity galore.<\/p>\n

Module #.4<\/em>: Indoor\/outdoor games depending on weather\u2014energy release and team spirit.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udf31 From Shyness to Brilliance<\/strong>
\nAt the start, the kids\u2014mostly fourth graders\u2014were a bit reserved, though friendly. But here’s what happened:<\/p>\n

They became super frank and confident, often initiating questions.<\/p>\n

Vocabulary sessions turned playful: \u201cCan we learn two synonyms?\u201d they\u2019d challenge.<\/p>\n

In drama class, kids discovered their inner performer\u2014projecting voices and moving freely on stage.<\/p>\n

Their transformation reminded me that learning thrives on trust and encouragement.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udfad Theatre Triumph: My Proudest Moment<\/strong>
\nAssigning roles and teaching performance skills was a major highlight. These kids, who had never acted before, learned quickly:<\/p>\n

They showed up shy and unsure.<\/p>\n

Within just a few classes, they were expressing emotion, using body language, and enjoying their roles.<\/p>\n

Observing their final performance\u2014full of passion and pride\u2014brought tears of joy.<\/p>\n

It confirmed a powerful lesson: confidence is a learned habit.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udfeb School Culture & TCF\u2019s Ethos<\/strong>
\nFrom what I observed and learned from TCF teachers and staff:<\/p>\n

The campus was professionally run\u2014organized, positive, and inviting.<\/p>\n

Teachers follow strong lesson structures and are supported through continuous training .<\/p>\n

The staff was deeply committed\u2014adapting to each child, encouraging involvement, and maintaining discipline with care.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s clear why TCF runs over 1,800 schools educating more than 280,000 children across Pakistan
\n.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udc9d A Farewell That Broke Our Hearts<\/strong><\/em>
\nOn the final day, the children surprised us with handmade cards and asked for autographs. The room filled with tears, smiles, and a heavy sense of goodbye. That moment was emotional, raw, and unforgettable\u2014proof that real connection knows no boundaries.<\/p>\n

\u2728 Lessons I’ll Carry Forward<\/strong>
\nThis internship reshaped me:<\/p>\n

Humility: Learning alongside students who teach through their curiosity.<\/p>\n

Gratitude: Appreciating education and teamwork in a new light.<\/p>\n

Purpose Clarity: I\u2019m more determined than ever to work in education, children\u2019s rights, and empowerment.<\/p>\n

\nTo anyone considering the TCF Internship: go for it. You\u2019ll arrive wanting to help\u2014but you\u2019ll leave profoundly changed. The students, the teachers, the energy\u2014they\u2019re all real, earnest, and beautifully hopeful.<\/p>\n
