As part of Library Month celebrations, Early Years Campus Malir recently transformed into a lively literary wonderland, and it was a resounding success! This was not just an event; it was a dedicated effort to ignite a passion for reading in every student, and this year, it was more interactive and engaging than ever before.
🌟 A Celebration of Stories in Two Languages
The festival was meticulously organized to offer a rich experience in both English and Urdu, ensuring that every student felt connected to the magic of literature in their mother tongue and in a global language. The activities were carefully planned across all grade levels to be age-appropriate and wonderfully interactive:
• English Corners: Students participated in “Character Dress-Up” where they embodied their favorite book heroes, followed by dramatic readings and “Book Cover Creation” workshops. The older students engaged in a lively “Literary Quiz” testing their knowledge of classic and contemporary literature.
• Urdu Stations (اردو کارنر): The atmosphere was equally buzzing at the Urdu stalls. Activities included “Lafzi Zanjeer” لفظی زنجی, “Lafzon ka Safar” لفظوں کا سفر “Bhari Huroof ka Khel” بھاری حروف کا کھیلand “Seekhnay ki Raah” سیکھنے کی راہ truly celebrated the beauty and depth of Urdu literature.
🤝 The Heart of the Festival: Interaction and Community
What made “Story Land Festival” truly special was the level of participation and interaction, it was a hands-on experience for everyone, the peer-to-peer mentorship boosted their confidence and fostered a deeper sense of community. Our teachers designed incredible, themed stations—from a “Sentence building Factory” – using creative props, to a creative “Picture Creation Station” to Programming bee-bot, creating and defining their favourite character digitally that made the books truly come alive.
A huge highlight was extending the invitation to our parents. Seeing parents participate alongside their children added an unparalleled layer of warmth and encouragement. A special craft station allowed families to work together to design personalized bookmarks and book covers. Witnessing a parent and child discussing a book or laughing over a story was a powerful reminder of the lasting bond that reading creates.
The “Story Land Festival” was a vibrant, loud, and incredibly fulfilling week. It wasn’t just about reading a book; it was about experiencing a story, building a community, and celebrating the sheer joy that lies within the pages of literature. Here’s to another year of unforgettable adventures in reading!
