We believe that meaningful education is built through experiences that encourage students to explore, participate, express themselves and connect with others. From the arts and music to collaborative activities and student-led experiences, every opportunity contributes to the development of confident, creative and well-rounded learners.

This spirit came alive during a recent Morning Assembly, as our Music Teacher, Sir Nafees, an energetic and rhythm-loving educator, introduced students to an engaging and interactive Drum Circle that quickly filled the morning with enthusiasm and excitement.

Learning Through Rhythm

The Drum Circle was not simply an entertaining start to the day. It provided students with opportunities to develop active listening, concentration, coordination, teamwork and self-expression. Responding to rhythm requires students to listen carefully, recognise patterns and coordinate their responses with those around them, skills that naturally support collaborative learning.

The activity also created a positive and energetic environment, giving students a healthy avenue for creative expression, participation and social connection. The smiles, enthusiastic claps and collective energy reflected the joy that can emerge when students are given opportunities to learn through experience.

A Shared Experience

One of the most meaningful aspects of the activity was its ability to create a sense of togetherness. Students were not merely watching a performance; they were contributing to it. Every clap became part of a larger rhythm, demonstrating how individual participation can create something meaningful when brought together.

The morning assembly was therefore more than a musical session; it was an experience in connection, collaboration and wellbeing.

At Beaconhouse Clifton Campus, we continue to create opportunities where learning, creativity and wellbeing move together. And sometimes, the best way to begin a day of learning is with a little rhythm!

One beat. One community. One vibrant start to the day.

Written by: Sir Yasin Marfani – Librarian

At Beaconhouse Clifton Campus, learning extends far beyond the boundaries of the classroom.
