The First Impression
Have you ever met someone new and wanted to know more about that person?
People often judge others by their culture, food, clothes, and style. However, we are not always right because we don’t know the person’s story.
Why Do We Judge People?
Sometimes, we judge people without even realizing it. For instance, a quiet person might look unfriendly, but they could simply be shy.
One thing we often forget is that everyone is different. We don’t know what a person might be going through or whether they could be grieving just by looking at them.
Why Is It a Problem?
By judging each other, we can hurt people. It can also make our friendships weaker. Sometimes, we may think something about a person and later realise that we were mistaken. This teaches us that we should not make decisions about people before getting to know them.
What Can We Do?
We should try to get to know people before judging them. We can talk to them, make them feel comfortable, or help them during difficult times.
We should treat people with kindness and respect, even when we are different from one another.
My Message
I believe that everyone should be valued. We should not judge anyone just by looking at them for the first time. We don’t know their story. Before judging anyone, we should pause and reflect.
