Are Kids Spending Too Much Time on Tablets, Video Games and TVs Instead of Playing Outdoors?
Nowadays, children are spending a lot of time using technology, such as tablets, video games and televisions. Although technology can be useful and entertaining, spending too much time on screens may not be good for children.
Too much screen time can affect children’s eyes and may lead to problems with their eyesight. Spending a lot of time scrolling through social media can also make it difficult for children to concentrate and process information effectively. Therefore, children should have a healthy limit on their screen time instead of spending several hours a day on devices. For example, they could aim for around one hour and thirty minutes of recreational screen time each day.
On the other hand, playing outdoors provides many benefits. When children play outside, they can use their imagination, become more creative and develop important social skills. Physical exercise also helps children stay active and healthy while supporting their overall development.
Therefore, children should try to maintain a healthy balance between using technology and playing outdoors. Going outside to play can help children stay healthy, strong, happy and active while giving them an opportunity to explore, exercise and be creative.
