Episode 16: Simple to Complex Machinery

During the visit to our new school construction site, our PYP 2 learners truly embodied the spirit of inquiry. With curiosity and confidence, they asked thoughtful questions and explored how various machines operate on a real construction site. As they observed simple machines working together to form complex systems, they demonstrated the Knowledgeable attribute by connecting their classroom learning to real-world applications. Watching the learners identify pulleys, levers, and other mechanisms in action made the experience both exciting and meaningful.

The highlight of the visit was the learners’ interaction with the civil engineers and site experts, who explained how they use simple and complex machines in their daily work. Our young inquirers asked meaningful questions that deepened their understanding of how these machines help build structures safely and efficiently. This visit not only enriched their unit of inquiry but also sparked inspiration as they witnessed how collaboration, innovation, and engineering come together to create our future school.
