“The purpose of a storyteller is not to tell you how to think, but to give you questions to think upon.”
-Brandon Sanderson

Children have an innate love of listening to stories which begins with the first year of their age. Stories create magic and a sense of wonder in their wild imagination. Every story teaches them a lesson about life which eventually helps them to introspect and choose the next course of action in life.
To tell these stories, a person needs skills and techniques. Storytelling is a dynamic and creative approach to learning. It is an art of revealing each element of the story in a manner that not only fascinates listeners but also chronologically unfolds each character and event using magical words and actions. Through storytelling, children learn to develop an understanding and appreciation for other cultures and begin to accept and respect people from different land, races and religions.

On Tuesday, 21st September 2021, students from Beaconhouse Gulistan-e-Jauhar Campus visited Kindergarten-I Campus, Jauhar for a fun-filled and thrilling storytelling session for their juniors which was a part of one of their assignments. The students chose two most renowned – children’s all-time favorite classic stories, “Little Red Riding Hood” and “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”. It is a strenuous task to grab the attention of young minds, however; with their appealing expressions, exceptional performance and varied catchy props, the storytellers left the audience in awe.
After, the storytelling session, some questions were asked to judge the understanding of tiny tots. The kindergarteners answered each question enthusiastically.
