We may sit quietly in your classroom, complete our assignments, and sometimes complain about homework, but there are so many things we never say aloud. Behind every “Thank you, teacher” are countless feelings, memories, and lessons that stay with us long after the school bell rings.

If you could read my mind, you would probably discover that I appreciate you more than I often show.

Sometimes, when you correct my mistakes, I may feel disappointed or frustrated. But years from now, I know I will understand that you were not trying to point out my weaknesses—you were helping me become better. Your words of encouragement, your patience when I struggled, and even the times you challenged me to work harder will become important parts of my journey.

Ten years from now, I hope to look back and feel proud of how far I have come. I hope I have achieved my dreams, built a successful career, and become a kind and responsible person. But success, to me, will not only mean having a good job or achieving my goals. I hope I will also have the courage to face difficulties, the confidence to believe in myself, and the kindness to help others.

There are some lessons from your classroom that I know I will carry with me forever. You taught me that mistakes are not failures; they are opportunities to learn. You taught me that hard work matters even when nobody is watching. Most importantly, you taught me to believe that I am capable of more than I sometimes think.

I will also remember the little things—the laughter in class, the interesting discussions, the moments when you encouraged us after a difficult day, and the times you believed in us when we were unsure of ourselves. These ordinary moments may seem small now, but I think they will become some of my favourite memories.

So, dear teacher, if you could read my mind, I would want you to know one simple thing: you have made a difference in my life.

You may not remember every student or every lesson you have taught, but your students will remember how you made them feel. One day, when I look back at my school years, I hope I will remember not only what I learned from books, but also what I learned from you.

Thank you for teaching me, encouraging me, correcting me, and believing in me.

And if, ten years from now, I become the person I dream of being, a small part of that success will always belong to the teachers who helped me get there.

What I Want to Thank You For

Thank you for your patience.

Thank you for explaining something again when I did not understand it the first time.

Thank you for correcting my mistakes instead of allowing me to repeat them.

Thank you for encouraging me when I felt unsure.

Thank you for noticing progress, even when it was small.

Thank you for believing that I could do better.

And most of all, thank you for seeing me as more than just a name on a class list or a number on an exam paper.

You have played a small part in my life, but that small part may have a much bigger impact than you realize.

If You Could Read My Mind…

If you could read my mind, you would see a student who is still learning—not only school subjects, but also how to become the person they want to be.

You would see someone who sometimes feels afraid of failure but still wants to succeed.

You would see someone who does not always say thank you, but truly means it.

And you would see someone who hopes that ten years from now, when they look back, they will realize that their teachers were among the people who helped shape their future.

So, dear teacher, if you could read my mind, I hope you would find one message written there again and again:

Thank you.

Thank you for every lesson, every correction, every encouraging word, every challenge, and every moment you chose to believe in your students.

Ten years from now, I may not remember every lesson written on the classroom board. But I will remember how you helped me believe that I could write my own future.

And perhaps that is the greatest lesson a teacher can ever give.

With gratitude,
A student who will always remember.

YAHYA JAFRANI

CLASS:5B

Have you ever wondered what your students are really thinking?
