Voting Adventures: Making Our Voices Heard!

I want to talk about elections, but not the ones we have at school for student council. Those are usually fair because those were electronic and we voted using computers. Machines and apps can indeed provide fair and authentic results because they follow specific algorithms and rules set by humans. Unlike humans, they don’t have biases or personal agendas, so their outcomes are usually consistent and impartial. This is why electronic systems, like those used in school elections or online voting, are often considered fairer and more reliable. Today, I want to talk about the elections which were held in my country, Pakistan. Yes, we have democracy, which means people get to choose their leaders, but it’s not always fair. Let me explain.

Types of government: In some countries, there’s a king or queen, and only certain royal family members get to rule. That’s called a monarchy. Then there’s a dictatorship, where one person has all the power and rules everything. But in a democracy, like we have in Pakistan, people vote and choose their leaders. To learn more about the types of governments you can use this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZRssHEyUfI

Election: During elections, people vote for their favorite candidates from different parties. The candidate who gets the most votes becomes the leader. This is supposed to be fair and help our country become better. But in countries like Pakistan, it’s not always fair.

Causes of unfair elections: When elections aren’t fair, it causes problems. People start fighting with each other because they don’t agree on who should be in charge. This creates lots of problems for our country, like social and economic issues.

How can our voices be heard: Through elections, we get to pick leaders who think like us and want to make our country better. This is the best way for our voices to be heard and make a difference. But for that to happen, we need fair elections and fair choices.

When I become old enough to vote, I’ll carefully research the candidates and their policies to make an informed decision. I’ll look for leaders who have integrity, empathy, and a clear vision for our country’s future. I’ll consider their track record, their plans for education, healthcare, and the environment, and how they treat people from all walks of life. Ultimately, I’ll choose the leader who I believe will work hard to make our country a better place for everyone. So far my favourite leader is Imran Khan, Who is yours?
