Finally, the awaited day had come—it was my Takmeel-e-Quran. I had been waiting for this day for years. I came home from school and changed into a charming dress. After getting ready, my mom, my sister, and I left the house for my madrasa. I was super nervous for no reason. My Baji told me and another girl to revise everything we had to read.
It was finally time to go inside the room where all the guests were sitting. The children recited some duas, naats, and the names of Allah. After everyone finished, it was my turn to recite the dua out loud, and after me, it was the other girl’s turn—her name was Inaya.
Once our turn was finished, we distributed some goodies to our fellow friends. I gave them brownies, while the other girl handed out cupcakes. My Baji gave both of us a Quran and some money. We sat there for a few minutes and then left for home.
As soon as I opened the door, I quickly ran to my dad to get my gift. My dad handed me a wrapped box, and when I opened it, it was a writing board. Then, he came with another wrapped box, and that was when I realized he had pranked me! I opened the second box and was shocked to see the tablet I had always wanted. I gave my father and mother a warm hug and thanked them for the gift.
At night, my family and I went to distribute some cake to our relatives to celebrate. When I came home, I had sweet dreams. I was so happy by the end of the day—it was the best day of March!
