It is the ninth month of Islamic calendar followed by 2 more Sacred months i.e Rajab and Shaban in which the Muslims were told to increase prayers and do fasts and strengthen the relationship with Allah.
The Muslims also religiously do the acts of charity. Ramadan has the spiritual reflection on Muslims as they abstain themselves from food and drinks and from worldly desires from dawn to dusk as a worship.
Muslims engage in extra prayers like Taraweeh and Laylatul Qadar as Muslim have belief that Quran was revealed to our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in one of the nights of Laylatul Qadar.
Increase the charity in the Holy month of Ramadan has its own significance. Furthermore, fasting in Ramadan has impacts on an individual’s health as it increases the metabolism, it reduces the fats and bad cholesterol within our body. It also reduces the risks of heart diseases by intermittent fasting. Not only this, it also maintains our mental health and improves digestion. By fasting, one strengthens his or her patience and willpower.
In addition, Ramadan not only has its impact on health and spiritually, but it also bonds people with one another as they gather for prayers and communal eating like iftars.
Muslims engage with people who are less fortunate to have basics in their lives by giving charity like zakat as this act is most liked by our Allah to take care of those who are less fortunate.
Last but not the least, Ramadan teaches us the lessons of patience and gratitude, act of charity and compassion, lessons learned and blessings received, bonds of family and strengthening the relationships and continues to seek Allah’s blessings and guidance in our lives. Happy Ramadan 🌹
