Recently, we took part in a Professional Development (PD) session at school that was both engaging and highly relevant to our classroom needs. The session was designed using a three-station model, allowing teachers to rotate through focused and interactive learning spaces.

The first station focused on Assessment for Learning (AfL) strategies, helping us understand how ongoing assessment can guide teaching and support student progress. We explored simple techniques such as effective questioning and quick checks for understanding.

The second station highlighted active learning strategies. Through hands-on activities, we experienced how the use of simple tools, digital resources, and AI-supported strategies can increase student engagement and ensure active participation of all learners.

The third station focused on constructive feedback, emphasizing how clear, specific, and timely feedback helps students improve their learning and build confidence.

Overall, this PD session was highly interactive and practical. The strategies shared were easy to implement and immediately applicable in the classroom. The session strengthened our understanding of how thoughtful planning, active learning, and effective feedback can lead to better student engagement and improved learning outcomes.
