At Beaconhouse Kindergarten lll, we believe that learning goes beyond books. To support this vision, we introduced the “Star of the Week” initiative—an engaging program to nurture confidence, responsibility, and stronger parent-child connections.

Why We Started This Initiative
The early years are crucial for developing a child’s confidence and sense of responsibility. By allowing students to be class stars, we encourage leadership skills and self-assurance. Involving parents and grandparents also strengthens the bond between home and school, making learning a collaborative and joyful experience.

How It Works

Two students are selected as Stars of the Week every Monday through a fun online wheel spinner. These stars take on special roles as class monitors, assisting teachers and leading small tasks throughout the week. The highlight comes at the end of the week when a parent or grandparent of the selected students’ leads a 30-minute interactive session—be it storytelling, arts and crafts, music, or outdoor games.

The Impact
Boosts Confidence: Children feel valued and motivated when given responsibility.
Builds Leadership Skills: Taking on monitor duties fosters independence and teamwork.

Strengthens Home-School Connections: Parents share their talents, creating a vibrant learning community.
Encourages Creativity & Exploration: Interactive activities spark curiosity and joy in learning.

This initiative transforms the classroom into a space where children not only learn but shine. With the combined efforts of teachers, parents, and students, “Star of the Week” is more than a title—it’s a celebration of growth, connection, and confidence.
