The energy in the air was unmistakable this May as BECP Grade III learners geared up for the much-awaited spelling competition – Word Legend. This exciting event was not only a celebration of language and learning but also a testament to our students’ dedication, focus, and growing vocabulary.
Preliminary Round – A Whole-Class Challenge: The competition began with a Preliminary Round on May 06, 2025, where all students from Grade III actively participated. They were given a list of 50 words to practice and prepare ahead of time. In class, each student got their chance to shine, spelling words pronounced through Google pronunciation to ensure clarity and fairness.
The excitement was palpable as every child gave their best, listening intently and spelling confidently. This round served as a great opportunity to assess their preparation and performance under gentle pressure. After this intense round, a select group of finalists emerged from both sections.
From Grade 3A, the finalists were: Ayman Shahid, Anabiya Saqib and Syeda Fatima Ali, whereas from Grade 3B, the finalists were: Muhammad Yousuf, Ahmed Bin Danish, Urwa Noman and Muhammad Nahyan.
The Grand Finale – Three Rounds of Brilliance: The Final Round, held on May 12, 2025 brought a fresh challenge for our finalists. Each of them received a new list of 50 spellings to learn and master in preparation for the final stage. The Final Round was structured into three unique sub-rounds, each designed to test different spelling skills:
Spellabrate– A traditional spelling challenge where each contestant was asked to spell words correctly on their turn.
Buzz Round – Contestants had to press the buzzer and quickly spell the word announced. This round tested both accuracy and reflexes.
Fiery Spellers – Each participant had 30 seconds to spell as many words as they could. Speed, focus, and stamina were key in this rapid-fire round!
The finale was judged by our dedicated educators, Ms. Farah and Ms. Elishba, who ensured fair evaluation and encouraged every child with warmth and grace. After three intense and thrilling rounds, the results were announced: Winners were Mohammad Nahyan (3B) and Anabiya Saqib (3A). Runner-Ups were Urwa Noman (3B) and Syeda Fatima Ali (3A)
At the end of the event, all participants were awarded certificates of appreciation, celebrating their hard work and courage. Our winners and runner-ups proudly received special Word Legend badges as tokens of recognition for their outstanding performance. Word Legend was more than a competition—it was an inspiring journey for our students. It helped them build confidence, improved their listening and spelling abilities, and encouraged healthy competition in a positive environment.
