“Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.”
Playing various sports helps students learn life skills such as teamwork, leadership, accountability, patience, and self-confidence, preparing them to face life’s challenges. Students have the opportunity to work on their physical and mental abilities to achieve goals in their lives.
“One can think of a healthy mind only in a healthy body. Both physical and mental well-being are prerequisites for great achievements in a child’s life. Beaconhouse Elementary Campus has always been wonderful at arranging events that help a child grow both physically and mentally, and the sports day is proof of that. We organised a sports day, SPORTS SPREE, where all levels participated in challenging yet fun games to ensure that the students enjoyed their best.
The day started with Tilawat e Quran and its translation, followed by the national anthem. The grand inauguration of the ceremony was then commenced by Ms. Sumera Savez, HM BECP, along with the honourable chief guests. Our HM welcomed everyone and encouraged the students to participate with enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
The students of the upper primary level then presented a Leader In Me Song that showcased their leadership skills. The event kicked off with the heartwarming March Past, led by head boy Ibrahim Shahid with the Pakistani flag and head girl Abeeha Memon carrying the Beaconhouse flag, setting the tone for a vibrant event. The houses, represented by their captains, were introduced with enthusiasm, showcasing the diverse spirit of the student body.
Highlighting the occasion was the Oath-taking ceremony, expertly conducted by head girl Abeeha Memon. Amid cheers, students pledged to embody sportsmanship and preserve the honour of our school’s sporting activities. The event, seamlessly blending the Walk Past, house introductions, and oath ceremony, created a memorable and unifying experience for the entire school community.
The spotlight then shifted to a dynamic showcase of leadership skills demonstrated by the athletes from Green, Blue, Yellow, and Red Houses. Our champions from Grades 3, 4, and 5 took centre stage, embodying the seven habits of effective leaders. With a spirited game, they practically exhibited some of these leadership traits, providing an engaging and active teaser of their physical prowess and leadership capabilities.
The event kicked off with a captivating Wing dance display, setting the perfect tone for what was to follow. The early years then took the stage, presenting a mesmerising Zumba display that enthralled the audience with their energetic performance. The showcase continued with Yoga Displays, Hoop dance, and Gymnastics, keeping parents on the edges of their seats, applauding the skill and dedication of the young performers. As the track events commenced, the air resonated with cheers and abundant encouragement for the young athletes. The collective enthusiasm of the spectators added an electric atmosphere to the event, creating a memorable and spirited occasion for everyone involved.
The culmination of the event saw the deserving winners being presented with well-earned medals. The day concluded with an abundance of cheers and big smiles adorning the faces of everyone present. The shared joy and sense of accomplishment added a delightful touch to the event, leaving a lasting impression on the participants and spectators alike.
