M is for m…m…m… Mango
In the first few years of their lives, children learn speech and language skills. As they grow, they listen to the people around them and learn new words. A great vocabulary helps children develop great communication, reading and writing skills.
The morning with mothers of activity was specially arranged for the mothers of the students of Nursery A and B to introduce the letter /m/ and give the mothers an insight of the activities that students usually do in the classrooms while learning any specific letter, sound and its related vocabulary. A variety of activities were organized for the mothers and students to enjoy and learn together creating beautiful memories.
Pictionary game in which mothers drew the vocabulary related to the letter /m/ and students sat around having to guess what the picture and its beginning sound. The other activity was creating crafts related to the letter /m/ mouse and moon in which students had to paste small cutouts to create marvelous crafts that they can take as a souvenir. The blending sounds activity station was specially kept to teach the mothers also how the students are learning to blend the sound to read the words which was quite helpful for mothers as they were also learning new ways of teaching their kids at home.
Interlinking the subjects together, Monster Math was also the part of activity in which students had to identify the number and count that many counters to feed the monsters placed in line.
Last but surely the most interesting table was also there in which the food items that were beginning with the letter /m/ were placed for the students to enjoy with their mothers. Mango juice, marshmallow, macaroni and mayonnaise sandwich-making were also arranged that enhanced the vibe of the whole event as the kids enjoyed tasting and eating them.
In a nutshell, it was a morning filled with fun, laughter and above all, learning!
