“The purpose of learning is growth, and our minds, unlike our bodies, can continue growing as we continue to live.” Mortimer Adler
Focused Sessions for the mother’s of Early Years, Lower and Upper Primary were organized at the BECP in the month of September 2024 to get them familiar with the teaching and learning strategies, classroom practices, tools and techniques being used to make learning experience more interactive, fun and effective for the students.
At the BECP team, we teachers made the sessions participative and interactive by explaining and demonstrating a variety of activities along with engaging the mothers to be part of those activities. Parents are encouraged to share and discuss their experiences. We aim to create personal connections with parents, foster a supportive and non judgemental environment and our dedicated teachers are here to guide them, providing a deeper understanding of our curriculum. Our core concept revolves around sending unexpected, positive messages home to the connection between parents and their children.
Study consistently demonstrates the positive impact of praise on student learning and behavior. To make these interactions engaging, we include activities with presentations that encourage parent involvement and Online educational platforms provided for further engagements and feedback.
During these sessions, we meet parents on a personal level, providing a comprehensive overview of our curriculum. We break down each subject – English, Math, KNU, PSHE, PD, PE, Music, and Urdu – explaining our EY Thematic Approach, assessments, and utilizing various AFL strategies and resources. Essentially, we offer a brief demo to help every attending parent grasp the basic concepts of different subjects.
It’s a great opportunity which will support the mothers in working collaboratively with the school for boosting the development and growth of their children. We endeavour to strengthen relationships and contribute to students’ achievements in the years to come.
By empowering mothers with the right tools and strategies, we can unlock our students’ full academic potential and foster a lifelong love of learning.
