BYOAD – Digital Safar of Class V

As everyone may know, our school has started a program called BYOAD (BRING YOUR OWN APPROVED DEVICE). This program allows 5th to 8th-grade students to use Chromebooks. Some of the textbooks come with cards that include codes; when you enter the code, the textbook content downloads onto your Chromebook and is installed. The Chromebook is strictly for educational purposes, and certain apps are banned. You can also use it at home for research, homework, etc.

The main reason behind this program is that, as you may know, the world has advanced significantly in technology, and our future will involve even more of it. Our school has introduced this program to help us start practicing early for the years ahead. It allows us to explore new ideas in technology. Instead of carrying heavy textbooks, we just carry a Chromebook, which has made our bags much lighter.

The school takes good care of our devices by providing a separate cupboard for Chromebooks with proper safety measures. The cupboard is locked, and the keys are always kept with the School Coordinator. So far, my learning experience has been great with this program. I think it is a fun way to learn and will help us gain more knowledge about technology. We get to use different educational apps that are very engaging compared to traditional methods. I also feel that it is a fun way to interact with classmates.

I hope we get to experience this enjoyable way of learning in our future years as well. Overall, I really appreciate this new initiative our school has taken, and it has been very helpful. I am truly proud and thankful to our school for bringing such a positive change to our learning experience.
