From June 16 till 19, 2025, the Beaconhouse Leadership Immersive Simulation Series (BLISS) training was successfully conducted, marking another milestone in leadership development within the Beaconhouse network. This three-day comprehensive training was attended by school leaders from across the region, including the School Head of BECP, Ms. Sumera Savez, who actively participated in the sessions and engaged in reflective learning.

The BLISS program was designed as an immersive and experiential journey, enabling participants to strengthen their leadership capabilities through meaningful simulations and collaborative activities. The training was themed around the acronym JALWA, with each day focusing on a distinct aspect of leadership: Compassion, Connection, and Courage.

Day 1: Compassion
The first day emphasized the importance of empathy and genuine human connection in leadership. Participants explored how compassion fosters trust, inspires change, and encourages thoughtful decision-making. The sessions highlighted the journey from blame to ownership and showcased how interpersonal connections play a pivotal role in creating supportive learning environments.

Day 2: Connection
The second day focused on building bridges through collaboration and effective communication. Leaders learned strategies to analyze root causes, provide constructive feedback, prioritize empathy, and generate solutions collaboratively. By shifting the mindset from blame to bridge, the training empowered participants to resolve conflicts positively and strengthen professional relationships.

Day 3: Courage
The final day of the training was dedicated to cultivating courage in leadership. Participants reflected on embracing vulnerability, challenging assumptions, and promoting inclusivity in schools. Courage was presented not only as a personal trait but as a cultural value that creates safe learning spaces, encourages student ownership, and transforms failures into opportunities for growth.

Throughout the training, unique learning experiences such as LEGO-based activities and reflective exercises tied leadership practices to both practical strategies and Quranic guidance, reinforcing the holistic approach of BLISS. Participants also shared surprising insights, including the realization that the absence of effective questioning can hinder productivity and outcomes, reminding leaders of the value of inquiry in driving progress.

For Ms. Sumera Savez, and many other attendees, the BLISS journey was more than just professional training—it was an opportunity to translate knowledge (ILM) into practice (AMAL). The takeaways from these sessions promise to inspire a more compassionate, connected, and courageous leadership culture at BECP and beyond.
