On April 25, 2025, Beaconhouse PECHS Elementary Campus organized a much-awaited and thrilling field trip for students of Classes 1 to 5 to Winterland Karachi—an indoor snow park located at the PAF Museum on Shahrah-e-Faisal. From the moment students boarded the buses, the atmosphere was filled with excitement, cheerful songs, and joyful laughter shared among friends.

The trip began around 9:00 in the morning as students eagerly climbed aboard the school buses. The journey was lively, with children singing, giggling, and chatting all the way. Teachers remained alert and attentive throughout, ensuring that all students were safe, comfortable, and enjoying the start of their adventure.

Upon arrival at Winterland, students were provided with jackets and gloves to help them stay warm in the sub-zero environment. Inside, the temperature was set to –10 °C, giving everyone an authentic taste of winter. The moment they stepped into the snowy surroundings with artificial snowfall and frosty sights, excitement and wonder lit up their faces. As one 3rd grader exclaimed, “It felt like we were in another country!”

The fun continued with thrilling activities such as zooming down snow slides, engaging in friendly snowball fights, and riding bumper cars on snow-covered tracks. The joyous atmosphere kept everyone smiling and moving. A 5th grader shared, “The bumper cars on snow were my favorite! I went three times!” These playful experiences also fostered teamwork, turn-taking, and group enjoyment in an entirely new and engaging setting.

After all the excitement, students returned to their buses where lunch packs were served by the school. The ride back was filled with enthusiastic conversations about their snowy escapades. Though tired, the children were still bubbling with energy, and teachers once again ensured that everyone remained safe, warm, and accounted for.

More than just a day of fun, the trip offered students a unique and memorable learning experience. For many, it was the first time seeing or touching snow, and being in a winter-like environment gave them a real-world sense of what cold climates feel like—something far beyond what books alone can teach. A 4th grader summed it up perfectly: “I didn’t want to leave! It was so beautiful inside.”

This unforgettable trip to Winterland Karachi will surely remain one of the most exciting highlights of the year. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and lasting memories that our young learners will cherish for years to come.
