A Great Training Day for Cluster S-6 Teachers at Beaconhouse Campus PECHS

On Thursday, July 30th, teachers from Cluster S-6 attended a short mandatory training session at Beaconhouse Campus PECHS. The program ran from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and was led by our Instructional Coaches.

Prior to the Training Day: Choosing the Topics

Before the training day, teachers filled a Google Form to choose the topic they wished to focus on. They selected either Effective Questioning or Active Learning, making sure everyone learned something meaningful for their own classrooms.

Effective Questioning

In the Effective Questioning workshop, teachers learned how to ask better questions that encourage students to think critically, rather than just giving simple yes-or-no answers. Through simple practice activities, they transformed ordinary classroom questions into interesting prompts that encourage students to speak up and share ideas.

Active Learning

In the Active Learning workshop, the focus was on making lessons interactive and fun. Teachers practiced group work, quick learning games, and practical activities. By trying these tasks out themselves, they experienced how movement and teamwork help students remember lessons more effectively.

Hands-On Learning and Guidance

Both training rooms were filled with teamwork and useful hands-on activities. The Instructional Coaches provided step-by-step guidance, so every teacher left with fresh ideas they could use in class the very next day.

Lunch and Networking

When the workshops ended at 11:00 AM, all the teachers were served a delicious lunch. It was a wonderful opportunity for educators from across Cluster S-6 to relax, talk about what they learned, and enjoy a meal together after a productive morning.
