For muslims, the sacred month of Ramadan represents a time of self-discipline, reflection, prayers and selflessness. It is a time for muslims to purify themselves spiritually and focus on building a stronger relationship with Allah. As part of our holistic approach, we at Beaconhouse Elementary Campus PECHS make certain that the students learn the moral and religious virtues. We believe in not only advocating the teaching of moral values in our school but also imparting strong ethics. The holy month of Ramadan has started and the students of BSS Elementary Campus PECHS have welcomed it with full zest. They have been engaged in a variety of enthralling activities in and outside the school for weeks. To instill the values and significance of Iftaar, a mesmerizing Ehteman e Iftaar was organized for the students of Toddlers till Kindergarten. They learned the true meaning of Ramadan, Ibadah and the routine of Iftar as instructed by Allah Subhanahu wa ta’la. It was tranquilizing to see the children reciting Duas. They enjoyed the feast of delicious Iftar filled with dates, juice, fruit salad and much more.
Young enthusiasts of Lower and Upper Primary were also committed to make the most of this spiritual month as the holy event of Ehtemam e Ramadan was arranged for them. The students had the opportunity to share ahadis and duas with the audience. They also recited mesmerizing Naats and Quranic verses to maintain the pre-eminence of Ramadan. Active participation of the children during Ramadan Quiz Activity was commendable indeed. The event was commemorated with collective dua, asking Allah’s blessings to be upon us forever.
The classrooms also echoed Ramadan spirits as the students of all levels did not miss out the opportunity to showcase their creative side by designing, fabricating and decorating wonderful pieces of Ramadan crafts. Ramadan teaches us the lesson of empathy, succour and selflessness. The students of Lower and Upper Primary demonstrated these lessons by helping their friends, family and community in one way or another.
It was indeed a soulful month for us all. We pray that Allah accepts our little efforts and showers his infinite blessings upon all. Ameen.
