In alignment with our BECP’s values of respect, empathy, and inclusion, Global Dignity Week 2025 was observed from 13th to 17th October 2025, with engaging and age-appropriate activities conducted across the elementary section and the spirit of dignity was highlighted throughout the week.

Global Dignity Day provides students with an opportunity to reflect on the importance of self-worth, respect for others, and celebrating diversity. Each grade level participated in thoughtfully designed activities that encouraged kindness, empathy, and meaningful action.

Early Years: Understanding Dignity Through Self-Expression

Our Pre-Nursery and Nursery students became Dignity Ambassadors by designing their own dignity icons based on their understanding of respect and kindness. These were proudly worn as badges, helping students express dignity in a simple and joyful way.

Kindergarten students took part in the “I Am Worthy” activity, which focused on building self-esteem and recognising personal value. Through discussion and reflection, students learned that dignity begins with believing in themselves.

Lower Primary Grades: Practising Kindness and Action

Grade I students explored dignity through storytelling with “Have You Filled a Bucket Today?” and “Bucket Filling from A-Z”. They discussed how small acts of kindness can uplift others. Students then created personalised buckets and dignity drops, writing kind messages and appreciation notes for their classmates-an activity that beautifully reinforced empathy and positive behaviour.

Grade II students engaged in a Call to Action activity, reflecting on real-life situations where dignity can be practised. This helped them understand that dignity is not just a concept, but a responsibility that can be shown through everyday actions.

Upper Primary: Serving Others and Celebrating Differences

Grade III students participated in a meaningful sandwich-making activity, preparing and serving sandwiches to the custodial staff. This hands-on experience taught students the value of service, gratitude, and respect for all members of the school community. Students also took the Dignity Pledge, committing to uphold dignity in their words and actions.

Grade IV students created a Dignity Tree, where they expressed what dignity means to them. Through red and green leaves, students identified what needs to change and shared ideas on how positive change can be brought about, leading to rich classroom discussions.

Grade V students explored “Celebrating Me, Celebrating You” by creating Canva posters that highlighted diversity and inclusion. Their work reflected thoughtful understanding of differences and the importance of respecting individuality.

A Week of Meaningful Learning

Global Dignity Week was a powerful reminder that dignity is about respecting oneself and others, showing kindness, and taking action. The thoughtful participation of students across all grades reflected their growing awareness of empathy, inclusion, and responsibility.

We are proud of our students for embracing these values and look forward to continuing to nurture a school culture rooted in dignity and respect.
